The Dominant 9 Chord

The Dominant 9 chord forms the foundations of funk guitar. Most funk guitar parts will use this chord shape, so we need to learn it first!

For an E 9 chord, we want to fret the 5th string at the 7th fret, the 4th at the 6th fret, the 3rd at the 5th fret, 2nd at the 5th fret, 1st at the 5th fret.
